Wonderful place to stay.

We enjoyed everything about this hotel. The pool area, views of the sea, very good breakfast with plenty of choice. Delicious food served in the restaurant offering theme nights. Well appointed bedrooms with an extremely comfortable bed & pillows. Professional, friendly very welcoming reception staff. Cleanliness of the rooms & grounds. Little extras like nightly turn down in the room, little cookie gifts. Free shuttle to fisherman village & Chaweng shopping mall. Would not choose any other place to stay in Koh Samui. Thank you all for a wonderful holiday.

Faultless customer service

The resort delivered all that is set out in their details. Customer service is excellent. My husband was admitted to hospital whilst we were there and the staff were so caring and supportive. I had complimentary transport for visiting him and the staff welcomed him back individually and ensured our comfort and ease. Big thanks to Jan and Sophie, front of house. Alice, Kate and Film in reception who managed to extend our stay more than once and also dear Moo who drove me back and forth. On day of departure we were able to use the hotel facilities and then use a beautiful clean and well appointed room with shower to get ready for our onward journey.

Explorar Koh Samui

The hotel itself was stunning. Great views from pool, bar, and restaurant. Quite luxurious. Our room was a deluxe room with a plunge pool. The room was immaculate, the bed huge and very comfy. There was a fridge with a selection of soft drinks and beers. The restaurant serves a huge selection of local and international foods. The paths around the hotel were colourful and well maintained. The spa onsite is fabulous. Great to have no kids running about.

The plunge pool had hard plastic chairs rather than the blue cushions shown in the pictures. Our plunge pool and decking area got no sun at all, which was disappointing. The fridge could do with more of a selection. Ie. Gin and tonic rather than just beer. The service in the restaurant can be a bit slow. Lots of staff, but they don't give individual attention to your table. Ie. Lack of attention to needs. Ie. Drinks refilling, clearing of plates. (Too many cooks springs to mind) As we were leaving for the airport in our hotel car, someone literally ran after us to ask if we had eaten a packet of nuts, which we had not declared. (We had previously given them a note of the 1 x beer we had drunk the previous night when checking out.) We had bought our own of packet of nuts at the 7Eleven when we were at the market. So this was a bit of an overkill and a bit embarrassing and really quite unnecessary.

Exceptional

Our stay at Explorar was exceptional. The staff were so attentive, friendly and helped in any way they could, the food was incredible - the best hotel breakfast we've ever had and lots of options for different dietary requirements for the in-room and restaurant dining. The pool was incredible and the view of the ocean is breathtaking. Although there isn't a beach, you can still swim in the ocean directly from the hotel steps and walk further along the coast to other beaches close by. It was so great having 24-hour service, using the hotel app to communicate with staff/order and receiving bottles of water whenever we needed. The room was clean and comfy. I would definitely come back again.

That we had to leave! The food/drinks were also expensive and everything you order to eat/drink at the hotel has an extra 17% charge on top and it really adds up in the end. It's easy to spend a few hundred here without knowing over just a few days. It was a shame the TVs were so old and didn't have any capabilities to screen mirror/use streaming services.

Very clean and comfortable, beautiful facilities and great food at the restaurant. Room was lovely.

Relaxing stay

We decided to upgrade to a room with a plunge pool and it was great. We chose this hotel as the location is quiet and we can go to busy places whenever. We enjoyed all the facilities, staff are nice and helpful and great breakfast choices. They have complimentary activities such as cooking, yoga etc. Easy to get a cab or hire a private car. We went to Angthong island tour and the speedboat even dropped us off by the hotel beach. Great after a day full of adventure. My husband and I enjoyed our stay.

Love it!

This is my favorite hotel in Samui if you are traveling solo or as a couple. Great rooms and amenities, fabulous service team that really cares about providing the best experience. Crazy good breakfast. Pool is great, just by the sea. Do rent a moped to move around the island. Thank you Jan and whole team for making me extended my stay so many times . Can’t wait to be back.

In general great hotel but they should not be making the drinks by the pool so expensive.

Staff was great and the pool very nice. Gym had everything needed.

The spa was way to expensive since next to the hotel on the beach is a way cheaper and good massage to be had. Happy hour is not on beers and the cocktails to expensive. Each bill has a set service fee of 10% which aparently goes to the staff and additional tax of 7%.

Great adults only resort

Great adults only resort. Very clean and modern. Staff very friendly and helpful. The free shuttle to Fisherman's Village and Chaweng were great given taxis on Koh Samui are quite expensive. Breakfast buffet was excellent with good range of Thai and western dishes. Food options at the resort were also good but of course not cheap - much cheaper options just a couple of mins walk from the hotel. Pool was beautiful. Spa was also good but expensive.

There were limited sun lounges/chairs by the pool - usually had to be there by 0830am to get one. People would often get one in the morning and stay on them all day. They have lots of bean bag type things to lie on and recline on though so we used those when chairs weren't available. Laundry was very expensive so we chose to do it outside - just 2 mins walk there are 2 places that do laundry at 70-80 baht per kilo
